John Davies Framing – Barbizon frame

This stunning frame is certainly eye catching with its intricately carved design reflecting the styling of the Barbizon school of art. It would flatter an impressionist or Barbizon style painting or create a dramatic centrepiece mirror.

The frame is carved in lime wood on a pine base. It is gessoed and gilded in 23.75 carat gold leaf which can be toned and distressed to your preference. It can be supplied with or without a slip, an example of which is shown in the image. It can be made to any dimensions, subject to a minimum width of 10cm (other widths may require some adjustment to the design). The frame shown here measures 68.5 x 74 x 13.5cm.
