In Conversation With Devonshire Living… May 2026

1. Devonshire Living has built a strong reputation for high quality cabinet furniture over more than 30 years; how do you adapt residential style collections to meet the durability and operational demands of hotel environments?

At Devonshire Living, quality has always been at the core of our residential collections, and that naturally lends itself well to hospitality environments. Our furniture is manufactured using high-grade materials, including thick timber rails and traditional construction methods, ensuring long-term durability in high use settings.

The majority of our pieces are supplied fully assembled, which not only reinforces structural integrity but also simplifies installation on site, an important factor for hotel projects. Our finishes are specifically developed to be more resilient, with durable lacquers that perform well in high traffic areas such as guest bedrooms and public spaces.

While we don’t offer bespoke sizing, our extensive collections include a wide variety of dimensions, configurations, and designs, allowing hoteliers to achieve a tailored look using proven, ready to supply products.

2. With extensive UK warehousing and stock holding, how does your supply chain model support hoteliers and contractors working to tight project timelines and phased installations?

Our supply chain is designed to offer both speed and reliability, which are critical in hospitality projects. We maintain approximately 96% stock availability across our collections, enabling us to offer short lead times, typically between one and three weeks depending on order volume.

We understand that hotel projects often require flexibility, particularly for phased installations or multi stage refurbishments. Our model allows us to deliver in line with project schedules, whether that means staged deliveries, complete shipments, or drawing down from reserved stock.

This combination of strong stock holding, UK-based warehousing, and adaptable logistics ensures that we can support contractors and hoteliers in meeting tight deadlines without compromising on consistency or product availability.

3. Your collections span oak, painted, and reclaimed materials across bedroom, dining, and living categories; how can hoteliers use these coordinated ranges to create cohesive design schemes across guestrooms and public areas?

Our collections are designed as complete room solutions, making it easy for hoteliers to create a consistent and cohesive look across guestrooms and shared spaces. Each range includes complementary pieces across bedroom, dining, and living categories, allowing for a unified design language throughout a property.

At the same time, many of our collections are available in multiple finishes and colours, offering the flexibility to mix and match while maintaining a coherent aesthetic. This is particularly valuable for projects that want to introduce subtle variation between room types or zones without losing overall design continuity.

Combined with our reliable stock availability, flexible delivery options, and experienced customer service team, we provide a practical and dependable solution for designers and operators looking to balance creativity with operational efficiency.

4. As hotel design continues to evolve, what trends are you seeing in cabinet furniture in terms of style, finish, and functionality, and how are you evolving your ranges to meet the needs of the hospitality sector?

We’re seeing design preferences vary significantly depending on location and property type, so our approach is to offer a broad spectrum of styles while staying true to our core strengths. Currently, there is a clear trend towards softer, more elegant forms, with curved detailing becoming increasingly popular, something reflected in the strong performance of our Lydford collection.

In terms of finishes, natural oak is experiencing a resurgence, while demand for painted furniture has softened slightly in comparison to previous years. This shift aligns with a wider move towards warmer, more organic interiors within hospitality spaces.

From a functionality perspective, while compact pieces such as bedside tables and occasional items remain important, particularly in space conscious rooms, larger, more substantial furniture continues to perform strongly across most sectors.

Looking ahead, we are actively developing new ranges to meet evolving demand. This includes a Scandinavian inspired oak collection with more compact proportions, as well as a contemporary oak range featuring clean lines, flush profiles, and softened, curved corners. These developments ensure we continue to offer relevant, design led solutions for the hospitality market.
