In Conversation With Caroline Attle… Art Director at byACRE
Luxury hospitality is increasingly prioritising inclusive guest experiences. How is byACRE helping hotels move beyond accessible compliance toward mobility solutions that genuinely enhance guest comfort, independence, and design aesthetics?
byACRE was founded in Copenhagen with a clear mission: to redefine how mobility is experienced – not as a limitation, but as a natural part of an active, independent life.
We help hotels move beyond accessibility compliance by offering mobility support that enhances comfort, independence, and inclusion for guests. Our lightweight, design-led products empower guests to explore destinations, participate in activities, and spend time with family and friends without feeling limited by mobility challenges.
The value goes beyond physical support. It is about the feeling of inclusion and the freedom to say “yes” – to keep pace with companions, join shared experiences, and remain actively engaged throughout a stay. This sense of independence contributes to both guest well-being and overall satisfaction.
Our mobility solutions are designed to integrate naturally into the guest experience – not as an afterthought, but as a considered part of the environment. They support comfort, confidence, and independence while reflecting the same standards of quality, design, and aesthetics found throughout the property.
Many hotels struggle to balance operational practicality with elevated interior design. How do your products integrate into modern hospitality spaces without feeling clinical or institutional?
At byACRE, we saw how traditional solutions often felt out of place in environments defined by comfort and design. We knew there had to be a better way. We set out to create mobility devices that belong, not hidden away, but seamlessly integrated into modern spaces. Designed to support movement while fitting naturally into the aesthetics and atmosphere of premium environments.
Hotels shouldn’t have to choose between functionality and design integrity. Our products are designed to integrate seamlessly into premium hospitality environments, complementing the aesthetics and quality standards of luxury hospitality environments.
Our design philosophy is rooted in Scandinavian minimalism – clean lines, premium materials, and a strong attention to detail. This allows our products to complement contemporary interiors rather than disrupt them.
As wellness and multigenerational travel continue to grow in the hospitality sector, what opportunities do you see for hotels to rethink mobility support as part of the premium guest experience rather than simply an accessibility requirement?
Mobility support is no longer just an accessibility requirement; it’s becoming an important part of the guest experience. Forward-thinking hotels are starting to see mobility solutions as a service enhancement, much like spa offerings or concierge experiences. Providing lightweight, design-led mobility devices enables guests to remain active, social, and independent – key components of well-being.
When thoughtfully designed mobility devices are integrated into the hotel experience, they support both physical well-being and confidence. Rather than being a back-of-house compliance item, mobility becomes a natural extension of the hotel’s commitment to comfort, inclusion, and exceptional service.
What feedback are you hearing from hotel operators and guests about the commercial and experiential impact of investing in thoughtfully designed mobility solutions, particularly in luxury, boutique, and design-focused properties?
We’re hearing a clear shift in how both operators and guests perceive mobility solutions when design is prioritised.
The feedback we hear most often is that thoughtfully designed mobility solutions enhance both the guest experience and the property’s overall offering.
Guests appreciate the freedom, independence, and confidence to fully participate in their stay, while hotel operators value solutions that align with their design standards and commitment to exceptional service.
Particularly within luxury, boutique, and design-focused properties, operators see mobility solutions as an extension of the guest experience rather than simply an accessibility requirement. They help create a more inclusive environment, support guest satisfaction, and reinforce the property’s commitment to thoughtful design and hospitality.
