WHAT WE DO:
Create luminous poetry
HOW WE DO IT:
We absorb the needs and expectations, and create a vision for the project. We establish sacrosanct criteria from the design team and owner.
If necessary, we build scaled models very early on to understand how materials and light interact and build upon the qualities of each other. We examine the architecture, daylight implications, and vistas within and outside.
Presentations:
We demonstrate our lighting direction with real fixtures and our built models in real time. We feel this is the best way for everyone to fully understand the intended lighting effect.
Good lighting is an investment. We present options that help you to understand the aesthetic and performance implications.
Distill:
We find inspiring ways to introduce light. We humans see color, texture, hierarchy of light, reflections, and contrast. We need to know what we are lighting: materials: their reflectivity, lightness, color;
as well as artwork and way-finding. We provide what is needed and craft a full experience.
Lighting Control:
We discuss options for lighting controls early in the design process. Everyone wants simple. We break down what that means to you.
Drawings:
We draft the plans, elevations, specifications, control information, details and other supporting documentation.
Testing:
We test lighting fixtures for dimming performance well before construction begins. We receive samples of lights and drivers to test in-house with our own lighting control systems to ensure compatibility and interoperability, “If we don’t test it, we don’t spec it.”
